Per rispondere ad una domanda utilizzando un sostantivo o un pronome solitamente si usa so come in so desu or know dewa arimasen . Using

Examples
Anata wa Tokyo Kikai-no desu ka kenshusei
She is an instructor of the Tokyo-kenkai?

Hai, Tokyo Kikai-no desu kenshusei
Yes, I am instructor of the Tokyo-kenkai

or with the shorter form:

Hai, so desu
Yes, I am.

Negative Response:

Iie, Tokyo Kikai-no kenshusei dewa arimasen No, I am an instructor of the Tokyo-kenkai

or with the shorter form:

Iie, I know dewa arimasen
No, they are not.
