Kukurizaru ( くくり猿 ) sono le scimmie appese di Kyoto. Tengono unite le mani ed i piedi attorno ad una corda alla quale si aggrappano. Nella tradizione di Cina e Giappone la ficura della scimmia è molto importante perchè è un animale molto simile all'uomo per agilità ma loro, al contrario degli uomini, hanno la facoltà di do what they really want.
